Kell On Wheels

Kelly with John Dau (on right), a “lost boy” of the Sudan from the movie “And God Grew Tired of Us” and author of the book with the same title, as well as founder of The John Dau Foundation. On my left is Peter Kuchs, “lost boy” and organizer of The Bor Community Organization.

The Kelly Kinsella Live! Sudan Project - KELL ON WHEELS- was developed by myself and Kristen Moser to bring a fast paced funny and original one woman show “on the road” in Fall 2008 via bicycle transportation to communities across America while inspiring them to support the gift of bicycles to African communities in recovering southern Sudan whose current primary mode of transportation is on foot.

In Kelly Kinsella Live! Under Broadway, Kelly the Broadway dresser works on a splashy musical called “Suddenly Sudan” about a self help guru who travels to the Sudanese border to give self help workshops to the refugees living in camps there. It is a satire of the ridiculousness of what seems to have become the general fodder for over-zealous Broadway producers and audiences as well as the ridiculousness of the basic theory of western civilization that “if you can dream it you can have it!” Kelly escapes all this as well as the hypocrisies of her personal life on her bicycle which represents her personal freedom.

This is Kell On Wheels. I’ll be updating progress of this endeavor on a regular basis.
